Seeking Intern: Community Liaison

We are seeking a self-directed and creative Community Liaison to join our team. As Community Liaison, you will be responsible for assisting in our expansion initiatives, outreach, and onboarding groups to our social network. You will be working directly alongside the Director of Development.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, self-starter, and organized.

Responsibilities:

  • Reach out to various organizations, both within and outside our network, to build partnerships and promote engagement

  • Reach out to influencers and potential supporters

  • Assist in onboarding new organizations to our social network, ensuring a seamless and positive experience

  • Act as a liaison between Beacon and the community, addressing inquiries, providing support, and actively seeking feedback

  • Help manage our LinkedIn Liaison account, Action Sheets, and Bulletin

  • Collaborate with the team to identify and implement strategies for community growth and engagement

  • Help with event planning and outreach

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Passionate about community-building and fostering meaningful connections

  • Familiarity with the Asheville, North Carolina community is a plus

  • Must have access to a reliable internet connection and appropriate technology to work remotely

Requirements:

Duration:

  • Applications close on January 4th, 2024

  • Internship Officially Begins February 5th, 2024

  • Part-time work, expected to dedicate 8 to 10 hours each week

Benefits:

  • This is an unpaid internship. We are currently volunteer staff. However, if Beacon has acquired flexibility in funding by end-of-year, a stipend may be available depending on their performance

  • Opportunity to build a strong professional network and establish connections with diverse organizations

Location:

  • This position is remote, with occasional in-person meetings or events that the intern may attend if they wish
